By Kemberlee Kaye, 08/09/12

Breitbart TV picked up a nasty attack ad this morning. The ad first released July 31, is sponsored by an anti-West SuperPAC and portrays Allen West in a boxing ring punching women. The ad's YouTube description explains, "Allen West is a bully.  He has been called "unhinged", "radical", and "dangerous". And he personifies everything that is wrong with Congress today.

By Meghan Feely, 08/09/12

FreedomWorks hosted a great grassroots training event this past Saturday in Brunswick, Georgia, with over 50 activists showing up in attendance. During the event, activists were taught the basics of grassroots success, including how to use FreedomConnector to connect with other local activists and how to phone bank for their favorite fiscally Conservative candidates by using the FreedomWorks for America website.

It's Cruzday in Texas

By Kemberlee Kaye, 07/31/12

Today Texans find out if it's possible to buy a Senate seat with $25 million of your own cash and a pack of lies. The race was Dewhurst's for the taking. Lt. Governor for ten years in one of the most prosperous states in the union, David Dewhurst was cherry picked by the Republican old guard to be the next Senator from the Lone Star State.

By Kemberlee Kaye, 07/30/12

Down to the wire, the Texas Primary Runoff elections are tomorrow and all eyes are on the Texas Senate race.  The most conservative minds, thinkers and leaders in the country support insurgent candidate, Ted Cruz.  The GOP old guard selected Lt. Governor, David Dewhurst, but as Cruz has said many times, this election is a testament to the hard work of grassroots activists.

Early Voting Begins in the Texas Primary Runoff

By Kemberlee Kaye, 07/23/12

With early voting beginning today in the Texas Primary runoff elections, all eyes are on the showdown between sitting Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and Ted Cruz.  The Texas Republican Senate Primary raceis illustrative of a national phenomenon.  Conservatives and liberty minded individuals dissatisfied with the status quo and go along to get along politians within the Republican Party are piling their support and money behind candidates like Ted Cruz.

Dubious Dewhurst Strikes Again!

By Vinny Kalkofen, 07/12/12

David Dewhurst’s major argument against Ted Cruz is his supposed ties with China. First off, these are not at all true just a poorly thought out attack from someone who is down in the polls, according to a recent Politico article

Mr. Dewhurst conveniently failed to mention his own link to the Chinese government.  In 1996, before becoming  Lt. Governor, Dewhurst founded a Houston-based Falcon Seaboard Resources, which was then purchased by Cal Energy.

Dewhurst Campaign Consultants and the Missing Amnesty Speech

By Kemberlee Kaye, 07/11/12

Two weeks ago we revealed the Dewhurst campaign's misleading social media tactics. The Dewhurst campaign runs a Twitter account called "Tx Sen Fact Check" and claims its dedication, "to fact-checking the claims in the race for U.S.

Cruz Responds to Texas GOP Criticism

By Meghan Feely, 07/11/12

David Dewhurst has once again refused to defend his own record and has instead relied on countless others to paint him as a devout Constitutional conservative, despite the pesky facts. Unfortunately for Dewhurst, the truth always has a way of rearing its ugly head.  In fact, recent polling coming out in favor of Cruz suggests that the truth can also really hurt come campaign season, especially in the absence of any legitimate attempts by Dewhurst to refute it.

Dewhurst Refuses to Debate

By Saul Mendoza, 07/11/12

It seems like David Dewhurst is back to his old ways of thinking that he is above the grassroots. After skipping so many Tea Party meetings and straw polls and refusing to debate the rest of the candidates for US Senate, Dewhurst is at it again. Dewhurst promised to debate at Ted Cruz after the primary when both he and Ted made it to the runoff yet it seems that this promise was made with no intent of being kept as we have only had one debate between Cruz and Dewhurst that has been aired on television.

Ted Cruz Pledges Full Repeal of Obamacare

By Kemberlee Kaye, 07/01/12

Thursday's Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare was a disappointing day for America and for individual liberty. Following the ruling Ted Cruz said:

Dewhurst Campaign Engages in Misleading Social Media

By Kemberlee Kaye, 06/30/12

While browsing through my Twitter feed yesterday, I noticed an account that I didn't recognize. Since I follow the Texas Senate race quite closely I'm familiar with all the major players. Naturally, I assumed this account was some sort of apolitical feed dedicated to keeping this contentious race honest. With a name like "TXSen Fact Checker" why wouldn't it be neutral?

On Friday June 22nd Ted Cruz and David Dewhurst faced off in their first one-on-one debate after the primary elections. The debate was also the first to be translated by Univision Texas into Spanish. Throughout the debate Dewhurst made many claims that were easily refuted by his record.

LIE #1: “He (Dewhurst) never supported a payroll tax”

Cruz Pledged To Repeal Obama Care, Dewhurst Has Not

By Jordan Grenadier, 06/28/12

If the Supreme Court’s ruling on the constitutionality of Obama Care today has taught us anything, it is that we need strong conservatives in Congress that will work to repeal this piece of legislation. Ted Cruz has actively campaigned that he will repeal every word of the bill, but where does David Dewhurst stand?

Dewhurst Continues to Play More Political Games

By Saul Mendoza, 06/20/12

Lt. Governor David Dewhurst’s campaign released a video today labeling Ted Cruz as the “DC PAC Man.” In their video the campaign illustrates a version of the classic arcade game, Pac-Man, but rather than the yellow pac-dot munching circle we see the head of Ted Cruz running around the familiar maze. As Ted’s face progresses it eats the logos of all the PACs that have helped aid his campaign such as that of Club for Growth and FreedomWorks.

Carrying the Momentum to Ohio

By Henry Graebe, 06/13/12

Senator Sherrod Brown must be more than nervous by now. Ohio’s Senate race is at full throttle and the results have not been kind to the sitting Senator.

Ted Cruz on Conservatism and Walking the Walk

By Kemberlee Kaye, 06/13/12

These days everyone in the Republican party is a conservative... or so they say.  Once used to categorize a very particular breed of Republican, "conservative" has morphed into an overused, and often abused synonym of "Republican."  This semantical progression makes distinguishing principled conservatives from rhetorical conservatives difficult.

Senator Brown Pleads Ignorance on Huge Ohio Jobs-Saving Vote

By Meghan Feely, 06/12/12

Senator Sherrod Brown has been representing the great state of Ohio in Congress for the past 19 years.  Brown consistently runs on a strong jobs message, claiming to have Ohioans best interests at heart.  Ohio also happens to be a huge coal state, with a great deal of its economy being driven by the large-scale production and consumption of coal.  So, given this tidbit of information, one would think when a

Hatch is Shortchanging Utah

By Henry Graebe, 06/09/12

Nearly two months after Utah’s GOP Convention, when Orrin Hatch failed to meet the 60 percent threshold of delegate votes required to avoid a runoff, Senator Hatch has finally agreed to debate his challenger Dan Liljenquist.  Unfortunately, it’s only a radio debate.
