Stenberg, the Conservative Choice for Nebraska Senate

By Kemberlee Kaye, 05/15/12

Yet another candidate from the Republican old guard is on the ropes, this time in Nebraska. Current front-runner in the Nebraska Republican Senate primary and state Attorney General, Jon Bruning faces substantial competition with what many media outlets are now calling "insurgent candidates."  Like the recent primary in Indiana,  Tea Party conservatives are successfully outing Republican establishment types and by the looks of it, Nebraska may be next.

Cruz Receives Big Endorsements

By Henry Graebe, 05/11/12

In a similar way to the weeks and days that preceded the Indiana primary on Tuesday, several big names have begun to endorse surging tea-party candidates. As the primary in Indiana crept closer, and a win for Richard Mourdock seemed more and more inevitable, conservatives across the country began to unify in their support for him. National conservatives, from Rick Santorum to Grover Norquist to Michelle Bachmann, helped to push the rising Mourdock across the finish line to a 20-point landslide victory.  Yesterday, both Sarah Palin and Ron Paul gave their formal endorsements of U.S.

Lugar’s Love Affair with Government Health Care

By , 05/02/12

On the campaign trail, Senator Dick Lugar (R-IN) spends a great deal of time slamming ObamaCare. But what’s Lugar’s history on government health care? What’s his voting record?

Well, it’s not good. In the ‘90s, Dick Lugar cosponsored S. 1770, a health care bill that featured an individual mandate similar to the one in ObamaCare.

Left-Wing Appointees Have a Friend in Dick Lugar

Senator Dick Lugar (R-IN) can’t seem to catch a break. Consider some of the bad news for Lugar in just the past week:

- Lugar’s trailing state Treasurer Richard Mourdock by five percentage points in the latest polls.

- Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin just endorsed Mourdock.

Mourdock Takes the Lead

By Henry Graebe, 04/19/12

With only two and a half weeks left before the Indiana primary, a new poll shows Richard Mourdock as more than just a serious contender. In fact, he is now the frontrunner. The latest poll, released on April 18, shows Mourdock capitalizing on the momentum from the past several months and now gaining a one point lead over his opponent Senator Dick Lugar.

Nebraska deserves better than an "Eric Holder Republican"

By Matt Kibbe, 03/22/12

We all make mistakes, and Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning is no different. But the best thing to do when you make a mistake is admit that you were wrong and apologize.

So why won't Jon Bruning admit he was wrong and apologize for supporting the confirmation of Attorney General Eric Holder?

Residency-gate

By Henry Graebe, 03/22/12

Residency-gate continues to become more problematic for Senator Dick Lugar. It has been known for a while that Lugar stays in hotels when he visits Indiana, for obvious reasons. He hasn’t owned a house there since he won his first election in 1977 and decided to move to McLean, Virginia.  And apparently, as Politico is reporting today, he’s been staying at these hotels on the taxpayer’s dime.
